I will put the Kodi problems into two broad categories – local and server-related. We can usually find solutions for regional problems, whereas if there is a server-related issue, we have to wait until the developers take care of such problems.
Below are the common problems and fixes for Kodi media players:

The first common problem is if your Kodi is not working. There may be a chance your Internet Service Provider is blocking the streaming requests provided by Kodi. Yes, Internet Service Providers are known for such practices. But you don’t have to doubt it anymore. You can avoid it by using a Virtual Private Network for Kodi.
A VPN will simply hide all the streaming requests from your device, and your ISP will not even get a hint of it. Since your ISP can no longer tell whether a data transaction belongs to Kodi, they will not be able to block it.

3. Kodi Repositories Not Working:
Kodi repositories are a collection of libraries that host add-ons and builds. Kodi has an official repository called the Kodi Add-on Repository, which has so many video add-ons, utilities and many more. Third-party repositories, like Kodi Bae and Fusion, are more famous and widely used.
These third-party repositories are created by independent developers. There are dozens of repositories out there and not all of them are identically popular.
To get a Kodi repository, you add a source to Kodi and then build in the repository from that source. If any of the Kodi repositories are not functioning, you will not be able to install the add-ons or builds from them.
So, how are you going to fix this problematic issue? Unfortunately, for the most part, you can do nothing about it. Even when you install a repository locally, its content is still saved on a remote server. If you are unable to install an add-on or a build through Kodi, this usually means there is an issue with the server. While popular repositories are well maintained, the not-so-popular ones are not. You need to wait for the server to be online again for the repository to work. If the repository doesn’t work for so many days, there is a chance it may be discontinued.

4. Kodi stopped working suddenly:
Kodi stopped working suddenly for me, for a couple of hours. Every time I tried to run Kodi, it would take rather a long time to launch or would throw some error. However, I figured that at least one crucial file in the Kodi installation folder must have gone corrupt, causing the app to not load properly. I started reinstalling the Kodi, and it started working fine again. However, you may lose your Kodi data, and your installed add-ons will be gone.
5. Kodi Builds OR/AND add-ons not working:
The first thing I would like you to figure out is if all the add-ons are not working or if there are just a few.
If the Kodi build is not loading, then not one of your add-ons will work. This looks more like the problem with the build whereas not with the add-ons. It would be the best idea to look up Google and find out if there is a known problem with that particular build.
If it is the problem with the Kodi build, again you need to uninstall Kodi and reinstall it to solve the issue. This will refresh the OS as well as the app and may fix the problem.
6. Kodi Buffering problem:
When my Kodi is not working, I usually uninstall the application and reinstall it. It fixes a lot of issues. But when I run into Kodi buffering problems, I need to do more than that. There are some ways to take care of the buffering problems, including:
- Clearing the cache/cookies.
- Increasing the video cache size in Kodi.
- Using a VPN.
- Using a Code.
7. Reset Kodi to default:
In this article, I have repeatedly discussed uninstalling and reinstalling Kodi. That’s the best idea, as it ensures that any missing installation files are redeployed on your system. But I would admit that not all Kodi issues don’t require reinstalling. You may even clear the cache/ cookies and reset it to default.
Here is how you can reset Kodi to system default:
- First, Install Ares Wizard on Kodi.
- From MKodi Home Screen >> Goto Add-ons>> Program Add-ons and run Arez Wizard.
- Click the More tab on the top right corner of the Ares Wizard interface.
- Click on the Erase all data/ Fresh Start button.
- Click on the Yes option in the following dialogue box.
- Now, you will see the following window. If you like to retain favorites, sources, and add-on settings, choose accordingly. The little gray dot will turn green upon selecting the item and click on the proceed button of this window to continue.
